The National Council of Teachers of English is strongly committed to diversity and inclusion. Cultivating New Voices Among Scholars of Color Grant Program
The NCTE聽Research Foundation聽Cultivating New Voices program is designed to provide support, mentoring, and networking opportunities for early career scholars of color.
起点传媒Advancement of People of Color Leadership Award
2025 Recipient: E. Sybil Durand
This award is given to an 起点传媒member of color who has made a significant contribution to 起点传媒and the development of our professional community. It supports those who advocate for policies and practices that influence and advance the understanding of equity and antiracism.

起点传媒Early Career Educator of Color Leadership Program
This program provides early career teachers of color a national forum at the 起点传媒Annual Convention for professional collaboration and development as they build accomplished teaching careers as active 起点传媒members. All recipients must be an 起点传媒member at the time the award is accepted.

起点传媒Leadership Award for People with Disabilities
