- They 鈥減repare youth to be college- and career-ready by promoting critical thinking and self-empowerment;鈥
- They 鈥渃an result in higher test scores and greater self-esteem for students;鈥
- They reflect 鈥渢he growing diversity of student populations in [US] schools,鈥 and
- Students develop a 鈥渃ross-cultural understanding that encourages respect for other people.鈥
These benefits matter and make a difference, particularly to populations who have long felt ignored, disrespected, and marginalized.
